Two killed, many others seriously injured in road accident in Uttar Dinajpur

In a devastating road accident in Raiganj, Uttar Dinajpur, a ten-wheeler lorry lost control and overturned on a four-wheeler, resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving several others severely injured. The incident occurred at the Tungidighi bus stand turn area on National Highway 12 under the jurisdiction of Karandighi police station. According to police sources, there are concerns that some individuals might still be trapped beneath the overturned lorry. Immediate response from the Karandighi police station was initiated upon receiving the information, with the injured individuals rushed to Raiganj Government and Medical College Hospital for medical attention

The tragic accident unfolded as a loaded ten-wheeler lorry, transporting maize from Dalkhola to Raiganj, lost control at the bus stand junction in Tungidighi. The lorry overturned on a Scorpio car, leading to chaos and panic among local residents. Prompt response from the community resulted in the rescue of some individuals trapped under the lorry, who were then taken to Karandighi Rural Hospital for initial first aid. Subsequently, those with severe injuries were transferred to Raiganj Government and Medical College Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
